A video clip has emerged which proves former bantamweight champion Petr Yan was instructed by his corner to throw an illegal knee on UFC 259 opponent Aljamain Sterling.

Yan and Sterling faced-off in last weekend’s hotly-anticipated co-main event.
In what had all the makings of being one of the fights of the year, unfortunately, fans were left disappointed after a disqualification meant the fight was called off ahead of time.
An illegal knee from Yan in the fight’s fourth-round left referee Mark Smith with no choice but to stop the fight and award Sterling with the win via disqualification.
The bizarre incident saw the Russian knee Sterling right in the side of the head whilst the American was clearly a grounded opponent – A big no-no in MMA.
Now, a clip has surfaced which shockingly proves Yan’s cornermen told their fighter to throw the knee – No one is quite sure why though.
