There’s clearly no love lost between Gerard Pique and Luka Modric, who were embroiled in a war of words after Real Madrid’s El Clasico victory yesterday night.
With Atletico Madrid having slipped up pretty frequently since the turn of the year, last night provided both Real Madrid and Barcelona with an opportunity to affirm their La Liga title credentials.

While it was Barcelona who had the bulk of the ball, as you’d expect, it was Real Madrid who provided the quality in the final third, with Zinedine Zidane’s men taking all three points and going to the top of the league.
While there’s cause for celebration in the Los Blancos dressing room in wake of the victory, you can’t blame the Barca players, especially the ones who have been there a while, for being angry and upset.
Luka Modric, who has been around the block a few times in Spain, was clearly well aware of how the likes of Gerard Pique would be feeling and decided to twist the knife at full-time.
