Poor Daley Blind. The Ajax star suffered a potentially season-ending injury during the Netherlands’ triumph over Gibraltar yesterday evening.
Blind, who played at Manchester United under Louis Van Gaal, now plays his football at Ajax, who will be seriously concerned by the scenes which unfolded in Gibraltar yesterday night.

Playing the international break in the midst of such a congested season, let alone in the middle of a global pandemic, poses plenty of risks to players.
Add into that the fact that some games are being played on artificial turf, just like in Gibraltar last night, it’s a wonder that club managers are able to get any sleep.
Any sleep that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag was planning on getting last night will have gone out the window, with him likely to be sweating over the prognosis of an injury sustained by Daley Blind.
