The first half was a timid affair with the best chance falling to Wout Weghorst who failed to steer his shot past Marc-Andre ter Stegen in goal.
The game kicked into gear in the second half with Marcos Alonso heading home from a great delivery before Marcus Rashford drew the game level with a tight finish.
The Red Devils then took the lead in the 60th minute when Rashfords cross was bundled into his own goal by Jules Kounde.
