(Video) Liverpool’s Harry Wilson shown SOFT straight red card during Wales’ heavy defeat to Denmark

Liverpool’s Harry Wilson was shown a straight red card in the latter stages of Wales’ defeat to Denmark in the Euro 2020 knockouts.

The Welsh had high hopes heading beyond the group stage, with Denmark, all due respect, being a favourable draw for Rob Page’s side.

However, while that may well have been the case on paper, Wales have been played off the park in Amsterdam, losing 4-0, and finishing the contest with ten men.

As the game wound down towards its climax, Liverpool striker Harry Wilson evidently grew a little frustrated, lunging into a challenge and being shown a red card.

He’d be within his rights to say this was a little harsh. Wilson was nowhere near the ball, but it wasn’t reckless endangerment, nor violent with his studs.

A yellow card would have been sufficient punishment in this case, but ultimately, it wouldn’t have changed a thing for Wales, who were outclassed today.
