Coming into Sunday’s tense match-up, Edwards was hoping to return from an 18-month lay-off in devastating fashion.
Elsewhere, Edwards’ opponent, Muhammad, would have been looking to cement his place among the division’s top contender.
In what was an exciting main-event, fans were left bitterly disappointed after an unintentional eye-poke from Edwards ended the fight in just the second round.
Edwards’ eye-poke was one of the worst in UFC history – Muhammad’s agony was clear for all to see.
Thankfully though, despite the horrible incident, the American-born fighter has since offered fans a positive update on social media.
