Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema demonstrated his leadership skills during his side’s comeback victory against Liverpool.
Los Blancos looked to be heading for an extremely long night after going down 2-0 inside 14 minutes against the Reds, but out of nowhere, the reigning European champions sparked into life as braces from Vinicius Jr and Benzema and an Eder Militao bullet header sent Madrid back to Spain with the tie looking all but over.
During the match, the TV cameras spotted captain Benzema giving his team some messages to calm down before the second half got underway.

The 35-year old was seen trying to relax his team mates ahead of the restart, with Luka Modric and Eduardo Camavinga taking onboard the striker’s instructions.
They clearly worked as Madrid went on to trample the Reds, with Benzema key to the turnaround.

Liverpool will have to play like they’ve never played before if they want to progress from here and scoring three at the Bernabeu could prove one of the most difficult tasks, with that being something Madrid haven’t done since they faced Chelsea in last year’s UCL quarter-finals, a game the 14-time European champions still won on aggregate.
