Joao Felix has gotten his short Chelsea career off to the worst possible start.
Chelsea paid an exorbitant amount of money to bring the Portuguese winger over from Atletico Madrid on a five-month loan deal. The insane fee raised more than a few eyebrows and casts doubt over the club’s transfer strategy.

But after only five minutes, it looked like an absolute bargain.
With his first touch on the pitch, Felix sent the defender to the shops with a delicate nutmeg before squaring it for Havertz. The German wasn’t able to convert but it was a positive sign of what was to come.
Felix looked a cut above the rest for 55 minutes until a rash decision ended his night early.
After a poor touch Felix tried to recover by diving at the ball, unfortunately for him, the Fulham player got their first and Chelsea’s new signing plunged his studs into the opposition’s shin.
The referee had no choice but to issue a red card.
