James Corden has taken the fight against the European Super League to the United States, claiming that the plans are “the end of the sport that we love”.
Corden is one of the most prominent British figures in the US at current, which leaves him with an important role to play in sending a message to the likes of Joel Glazer, Stan Kroenke and John Henry, who are all attempting to Americanise and tarnish the game of football.

The Late Late Show presenter is also a big West Ham fan, and he must have concerns that the possibility of them qualifying for the Champions League, a remarkable achievement, could actually count for nothing if this proposed breakaway league goes ahead.
The concern and the passion for the beautiful game have all shone through in an empowering speech he gave at the start of his show last night, during which he condemned the plans for the European Super League and the billionaires involved in drawing up the plans.
