Wilshere has signed a short-term deal with Championship side Bournemouth after impressing while training with the club.

Wilshere was without a club after he left West Ham in the summer of 2020. The 29-year-old had been training with ā€˜The Cherriesā€™ in a bid to improve his fitness as he seeks out a new club ā€“ which he did.

The 29-year-old has signed a short-term contract until the end of the season and he will wear the number 11 shirt.

It seemed on the cards that Wilshere would sign after Bournemouth after managerĀ Jason Tindall told talkSPORTĀ that heĀ was so impressed with him in training heā€™s considering offering Wilshere a short-term contract with the Championship side.

Tindall said:Ā ā€˜Jackā€™s still training with us, heā€™s training well, heā€™s looking sharp and itā€™s really good to have him.

ā€˜Itā€™s a situation weā€™ll keep monitoring in the next week or two and weā€™ll see where Jackā€™s at, and what we feel as a club in terms of what would be the best thing moving forward.

ā€˜Whenever youā€™ve got a player of Jackā€™s quality training with you and youā€™re able to have a closer look, it would be foolish to say thereā€™s not a chance of wanting to do something.ā€™

Wilshere wonā€™t feel out of place though as he had a loan spell with Bournemouth back in the 2016/2017 Premier League season.

He made 27 appearances and ā€˜The Cherriesā€™ who finished ninth that season ā€“ the highest finish in the clubā€™s history.

Wilshere had previously considered a move abroad with Americaā€™sĀ MLS or Spainā€™s La Liga looking like the favourable destination.Ā West Brom were also reportedly interested in securing his signature.

Thankfully for Bournemouth the creative midfield chose them and he has become their first signing of the season.
