Roberto Mancini tried to prove he’s still got it with an elaborate back-heel touch during Italy vs Wales. Unfortunately, it didn’t exactly come off.
Mancini had a successful playing career, most of which was spent with Sampdoria. He’s taken what he learnt during his playing days and applied it as a manager, which has paid off for him, quite emphatically.
The Italian has won 13 pieces of silverware during his time as a manager, including Serie A and the Premier League, and will be looking to win a 14th with Italy at Euro 2020 this summer.
Italy sealed their progression to the knockout rounds as group winners with a 1-0 victory over Wales on Sunday afternoon, with Mancini clearly intent on showing his players he was just as talented in his day as they are now.
Unfortunately for Mancini, his day has long passed, with his attempted back-heel touch not quite paying off as he would have hoped. Nevertheless – it was a great attempt!
