Dominic Calvert-Lewin has hit back at a reporter who made the assumption he wouldn’t be starting for England against Germany on Tuesday evening.
Calvert-Lewin enjoyed a hugely successful campaign with Everton, which earned him his spot in the England squad for Euro 2020. However, there’s no competing with Harry Kane.
Kane is among the best players in the Premier League and most prolific centre-forwards in the world. He is England’s undisputed starting striker, or so is the widely accepted belief.
While the Tottenham striker has started all of England’s Euro 2020 fixtures to date, and will surely start against Germany, Calvert-Lewin doesn’t want people assuming he’ll be left out.

Calvert-Lewin is a superb striker and a different option for England. He’s unfortunate to be playing in the same era as Kane, but he’ll get his opportunities, so long as he continues to work hard and remain patient.
