Watch Davinson Sanchez’s hilarious slip as he controlled a pass during Tottenham’s FA Cup clash with Sheffield United.
Tottenham will have been overwhelming favourites coming into this clash, coming off the back of two consecutive 2-0 wins over West Ham and Chelsea in the league, but they ultimately fell short once again in their hunt for a maiden trophy since 2008, losing 1-0 to Paul Heckingbottom’s Blades.
As well as the bad result, Sanchez had a moment he will want to forget during the second half when he managed to slip as he controlled a pass in midfield, with one viewer saying he looked like he was “tackled by thin air“.

While rival fans joked about Sanchez’s misfortune, Spurs fans questioned the Colombian’s place at the club.
“How is he still at the club?” was one comment, while another said: “Didn’t know we hire comedians,” with a fan responding by saying: “We don’t, we hire clowns.”
A day to forget for Sanchez and Spurs as the club’s wait for a trophy goes on.
