Video: Corners have officially peaked and we have a German team to thank for it

It’s official, corner kicks have peaked and we have German side Karlsruher SC to thank for it.

Karlsruher SC, a German second tier side, went viral recently after footage of their bizarre corner kick routine started to do the rounds on social media.

Instead of your traditional routine which would normally have most of the attacking teams players in the opposition box, the German side decided to start their routine on the edge of the box.

Players lined up along the box on the kickers side and ran in just before the kick in a bid to confused the opposition defence and hopefully create a clear cut chance.

It didn’t work but it did seem to cause some confusing amongst the Jahn Regensburg defence as they scrambled to pick up men.

The game ended 0-0 but you’d have to think that maybe if they were running onto the ball instead of away from it, they would have a better chance of getting a head to it and potentially scoring a goal.

Anyway, see for yourself below and who knows, you may even try it when Sunday League football returns.
