VIDEO: Conor McGregor Announces Next Opponent – After Poirier

UFC superstar Conor McGregor has named his next opponent ahead of his UFC return against Dustin Poirier.

The Dublin fighter is expected to return to the Octagon in January to take on Poirier in a rematch of their 2014 bout but ‘The Notorious’ is already looking ahead to his next match after his bout with ‘The Diamond’ which is yet to be confirmed.

It looks as though the Irishman could be set to face Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos who alled out the Dubliner after defeating Paul Felder last Saturday,

The two were due to face-off in March 2016 for the UFC lightweight title, but dos Anjos pulled out after suffering a late injury, which ultimately resulted in the epic fight with Nate Diaz who stepped in on short notice.

After four years of drifting in seperate directions it seems the stars have aligned and McGregor has responded to dos Anjos’ call out.

All of this movement came after McGregor blasted fans for criticising his move to fight UFC veteran Donald Cerrone earlier this year.

The Notorious one needed just 40 seconds to get the job done against the American at UFC 246 in January as he dismantled the veteran in his return to the Octagon.

McGregor took aim at the fans who criticised his choice of opponent and stated “You know you go online and you’ll see some guy like ‘Hey, you only f*****g fought Cerrone’ like imagine some guy saying that about a legend.”

McGregor is expected to be back in the Octagon in January to take on ‘The Diamond’ in a rematch of their 2014 bout.
