Mesut Ozil is on the verge of leaving Arsenal and one loyal Gooner couldn’t quite handle the thought of the German midfielder playing for another club.

During a live call-in on talkSPORT one Arsenal fan was brought to tears at the thought of the World Cup winner leaving the Emirates to join Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Ozil is set to leave the Gunners after a seven year spell at the club following his exile from the first team and poor relationship with manager Mikel Arteta.

The news of the Germans departure was all too much for one Arsenal fan as he broke down during a phone-in conversation on talkSPORT.

According to The Mirror Ozil is ready to make a move to Fenerbache and end his nightmare at the Emirates after being cast out by Mikel Arteta.

Turkish broadcaster NTVSpor claims the deal has been agreed, after Ozil was exiled in north London under the Spanish manager.

Last month Fenerbahce congress member Murat Zorlu said he was “90 per cent sure” Ozil will make a move to Turkey in the January transfer window.

In an interview with Sport Digitale Zorlu said : “A source, who’s very well connected to the club has told me that Mesut Ozil is likely to become a Fenerbahce player during the next transfer window.

“I would say 90% he will join us in one month.”

Ozil’s contract is set to expire in the summer and Arsenal are desperate to get him off their wage bill after the World Cup winner signed a monster deal worth £350,000-a-week in Arsene Wenger’s final season.

Ozil moved to Arsenal in 2013 from Real Madrid for a then club record £42.5m and has gone on to make 254 appearances and scoring 44 goals.
