Former Blackburn and current Sydney FC player Adam Le Fondre bottled the opportunity to level the game by missing two back-to-back penalties in the dying seconds.
Wellington Phoenix somehow managed to beat Sydney FC despite having two players sent off during the match.
After holding on for so long, they almost threw away the victory when Sydney FC was awarded a questionable penalty in the 95th minute.

The Sky Blues star striker, Le Fondre, stepped up to take it but Oli Sail easily saved it and sent the ball flying away.
After a chaotic moment in the box, the ball struck the hand of a Wellington player and a second penalty was awarded. Le Fondre stepped up again in the 98th minute of eight-minute stoppage time and skied his penalty over the bar.
