To celebrate Paul Gascoigne’s 56th birthday, here’s a video of him welcoming David Ginola to Everton in classic Gazza style.
As well as being one of England’s most talented ever players, Gascoigne was also one of the country’s greatest characters and when David Ginola arrived at Everton in 2002, he couldn’t resist a jokey welcome for the Frenchman.
For Ginola’s first training session as a Toffee, Gazza turned up to it sporting a long wig, with Ginola famed for his luscious locks as well as his excellent footballing ability.

While Ginola only made seven appearances for the Toffees before retiring at the end of the 2001/02 campaign, he’ll surely never forget the welcome he received from one of football’s funniest men.
