Virgil Van Dijk celebrated with an Inter Milan player after Liverpool scored their second goal at the San Siro on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s men can count themselves fortunate to have escaped with a victory, let alone a two-goal advantage.
On the balance of play, Inter will be bitterly disappointed to be heading to Anfield with such an unfavourable scoreline, one which will likely see them eliminated from the Champions League.
Their players will have been gutted to see Mohamed Salah double Liverpool’s lead after all the hard work they put into the game, but Virgil Van Dijk didn’t appear to have much sympathy.

Not only did he mock his opponents by celebrating the goal with one of their own players, but he picked on international teammate Denzel Dumfries, who can’t have been best pleased about it.

Dumfries will no doubt be determined to get revenge on Van Dijk and Liverpool in the return fixture. Whether he will be successful in doing so is another matter entirely…
