USA’s Haji Wright scores WONDERGOAL during match against the Netherlands ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The World Cup always throws up plenty of thrills and spills, and the match between the Netherlands and the USA did not disappoint.

When Daley Blind made it 2-0 to the Dutch just before half-time after Memphis Depayโ€™s early opener, they looked certain to cruise to victory, but with 15 minutes left of the second half, the USA had other ideas.

Christian Pulisic found himself in acres of space on the right and his low ball into the box was superbly converted by his team mate Haji Wright, who produced an outrageous backward flick with his right heel that spun over the Dutchโ€™s 6ft8 goalkeeper Andries Noppert and into the goal to set up an exciting last few minutes.

Unfortunately, his goal was not enough as Denzel Dumfries made it 3-1 moments later to send the Netherlands through, with the US sent home.

Wright will be gutted that his effort โ€“ which is surely a contender for Goal of the Tournament โ€“ came in a loss for his side, but it is a goal and a moment that he will never forget.
