‘Should be illegal’ – UFC stars call on career-ending Khalil Rountree Jr kick to be BANNED

UFC stars have called on the authorities to BAN the kick Khalil Rountree Jr used to defeat Modestas Bukauska at UFC Vegas 36 on Saturday night.

Rountree Jr has sparked a major debate over whether his second round TKO against Modestas Bukauska was fair and should be allowed in the UFC.

Rountree Jr stamped on Bukauska’s knee at an angle which is designed to tear ligaments and stop the fight in its tracks, but you also run the risk of ending a fighter’s career.

UFC fighters are NOT happy that Rountree Jr won the fight in this manner and have made no secret of their desire to get the kick outlawed.

There is currently nothing written in the laws to suggest fighters SHOULDN’T use the kick, which is referred to as the oblique kick, despite the risk of injury.

It remains to be seen if the damage done to Bukauska and the subsequent outrage from UFC fighters will force those pulling the strings into making a change.
