UFC legend sparks retirement rumours after being sworn in as full-time firefighter

UFC legend Stipe Miocic has been formally sworn in as a firefighter, raising doubts over whether he will ever return to the UFC.

Miocic is regarded as one of the finest MMA fighters of all-time, certainly in the heavyweight division. He was, however, knocked out by Francis Ngannou in March of last year and subsequently lost his UFC Heavyweight Championship.

The Ohio-born brute has never officially announced his retirement from the UFC, which left fans hoping that they could one day see him fight again, but there are now major doubts over whether he will ever return to the sport.

As is reported by The Sun, Miocic has now been sworn in as a full-time firefighter in the city of Westlake, California. He is unlikely to be able to juggle both careers, so may well have to sacrifice any future he might have had in the UFC.

We would all be happy for Stipe if he has found something he is passionate about to do beyond the end of his UFC career, but he ought to clarify himself whether this does actually mean he’s done or if there’s any prospect of him one day coming back.
