Current UFC champion reveals his terms for fighting Jake Paul in boxing match

UFC champion Kamaru Usman has told Jake Paul the price he’ll have to pay to convince him to step in a boxing ring and fight.

Jake Paul, who was previously a contentious YouTuber who also starred on the Disney channel, has taken the boxing world by storm since making his professional debut back in January 2020.

Of course, we’re yet to see the Ohio-born social media sensation fight an actual boxer, but he’s thus far defeated Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley, two big names in the MMA world.

Paul will now be looking towards bigger and better things, with Conor McGregor a potential opponent who he has set his fights on, but UFC champion Kamaru Usman also falls into the bracket of fighters that could sell a fight with the YouTube star.

Unfortunately for Jake, Usman is not so keen on the idea as he’s not entirely convinced by the PPV numbers that he’s done in his previous fights. He said on Club Shay Shay exactly what it would take to get him in the boxing ring:

“Absolutely, but these guys are making a lot of noise. They got the YouTubers and they got this new generation, these new kids involved and watching them.”

“That’s fine, but they don’t equate to dollars. Jake Paul says ‘we doing these numbers.’ You can add up every fight Jake Paul has had, but the pay-per-view numbers weren’t more than what I did in my last fight.”

“Write me a check for $100million [£76m], Jake Paul and I’ll be there to kick your ass next week.”

That is, of course, not a realistic figure for Paul to meet, so we can chalk this one – it’s never going to happen. Usman isn’t nearly washed-up enough for Paul to agree to fight him, anyway…
