Tyson Fury struggled against Francis Ngannou last October.

The WBC heavyweight champion was expected to outclass the MMA star and many people in the sport thought the bout would be a complete mis-match.

It turned out to be completely different with the former UFC champion dropping the Brit and only narrowly losing via a controversial split-decision verdict from the judges.

There has been many conspiracy theories floating around but Fury refused to blame his subpar performance on anything.

But Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown has revealed the reason why his man put in a lacklustre performance.

I’ll tell you the reason now,’ Brown told Boxing King Media. ‘He never slept for three days on the spin. That was the reason for the bad performance. You can take that how you want but I was there and saw it all. He couldn’t sleep.

‘We’ve proved that now because we’ve gone through a new camp and it’s wonderful. Marvellous, you can sleep as much as you want.

‘Don’t go to sleep for three day, see how you feel. I’m sure you’ve done that in your party days.’

Francis Ngannou takes on Anthony Joshua this Friday with Tyson Fury facing Oleksandr Usyk for undisputed glory in May.
