Tyson Fury lost for the first time in his professional career when he was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed clash.
The Ukrainian won via a split-decision verdict from ringside and became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years.
Following the fight, fans and pundits were critical of ‘The Gypsy King’s’ corner that included Sugar Hill Steward, Andy Lee and his father John.
Fury Snr was particularly targeted on social media of being guilty of giving the wrong advice but Shane Fury has insisted it came from a good place and defended him.

MORE HERE: 🚨 Mike Tyson had no doubts about the boxing legend he most wanted to face from any era
He told iFL TV.”My take is, deeply, truly, my honest opinion is my dad wants what’s the best for his son.
“And the best for his son after he’s been put down and nearly out cold is to get him through the fight.
“F*** the boxing, you can be KO’d and not wake up. That’s his mentality ’cause he wants the best for his sons.
“But sometimes when you want the best for someone it’s maybe not the best instructions. Them instructions is sometimes not what you need.”
The British heavyweight was badly hurt in the ninth round of the fight but managed to recover to see out the contest.
Fury will take on Usyk again in Saudi Arabia on December 21st.
Will it be repeat or revenge? Let us know in the comments.
