FOUR fights considered for Tyson Fury after Dillian Whyte plans fall through, Frank Warren confirms

Frank Warren has revealed that there are FOUR fighters in the running to take on Tyson Fury in early 2022.

Warren has revealed that the proposed bout between Fury and mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte will now NOT be happening, with a dispute involving Whyte and the WBC preventing negotiations from progressing.

Still, Fury will be looking to stay active and pencil in a fight for early in the year, even if he will not be fighting to defend his heavyweight title. Warren, quoted by talkSPORT, revealed that there are four fighters who he could face.

“We have got to sort out an opponent first before we can move further forward. I‘m not going to go into that because we have got to get things done first.”

“But we are working quite hard on it and there are about four in the frame, and we will make a decision on that, subject to their availability too.”

While Warren has stopped short of naming the four, it shouldn’t be too difficult to figure out who could be under consideration.

Fury (as reported by M.E.N) has previously named Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz Jr as potential upcoming opponents. Parker is a close friend of the Gypsy King and trained in his gym in the build-up to his recent win over Derek Chisora.

Andy Ruiz Jr, having put Anthony Joshua to the sword in their first fight, would be a good way for Fury to measure himself up against his compatriot and rival – who has incidentally also fought Parker in the past.

Other opponents which could be considered are Joe Joyce, who is represented by David Haye, or even Derek Chisora, with Fury previously having expressed interest in a trilogy fight with the 37-year-old.
