Tyson Fury worries fans by dropping retirement hint after Deontay Wilder trilogy triumph

Tyson Fury has suggested that he could soon announce his retirement from the sport of boxing.

Fury, who was considered by many as the number one heavyweight on the planet prior to his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder, firmly established himself in the top spot with an 11th round knockout of the American on Saturday night.

Before the dust even settled on his win over Wilder, we have ramped up the speculation as to who The Gypsy King could fight next, from Oleksandr Usyk, to Anthony Joshua, to Dillian Whyte.

However, there was one possibility that we did not account for – and that’s Fury hanging up his gloves.

While we would not consider it the most likely scenario at this point in time, the WBC heavyweight champion of the world has heavily suggested that his career could be coming to an end.

He’s quoted by the Daily Star saying:

“I don’t know what’s going to happen [next].”

“I’ve got one fight left on my contract with Top Rank and ESPN and we’ll see what that is.”

“But I’m not thinking about boxing right now. I don’t know how many fights I’ve got left, I don’t know if I need to fight anymore. I don’t know what the future holds.”

All good things have to come to an end eventually, but we’re not yet ready to see the back of Fury. He still has so much to offer in the ring and deserves the opportunity to unify the division.
