The All-Ireland winner Cathal McShane will play no further role in Tyrone’s quest for Sam Maguire glory this season after he informed management and teammates on Tuesday evening that he has left the panel.
In 2021 he played a key role in Tyrone winning a fourth Sam Maguire Cup getting one of their three goals in the dramatic extra time 3-14 to 0-22 semi final win over Kerry and he followed that up in the final against Mayo by flicking home Conor Meyler’s centre in the 46th minute to help the Red Hands triumph 2-14 to 0-15. His displays that campaign earned him an Allstar nomination.

Shame about Cathal McShane leaving panel. Thanks for the good times Cathal. All Ireland winner. Ulster titles 2016, 2017 & 2021. Last gasp point v Meath en route to 2018 All Ireland final. 1-3 off bench against Kerry in 2021. Superb 2019 All Star but 2020 injury killed momentum.
