Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley almost knocked down Jake Paul for the first time in his professional career during their eight-round bout last night.
Heading into the bout, we knew Paul would have the height and reach advantage, but Woodley is a seasoned fighter and a former UFC champion. It was difficult to know exactly what to expect.
Ultimately, it was the YouTuber-cum-boxer who got the win on his record, but Paul did get caught from Woodley with a right hand that did more damage than any punch that has landed on him in his three fights prior.
Tyrone Woodley rocked Jake Paul here in round 4 but didn’t try too end it and just showboated a little…… 🤣#PaulWoodley pic.twitter.com/fHe89p4wLW

Paul needed the ropes to keep him upright. Without them, he probably would’ve found himself sat down on the canvas, a place where he has never been in his boxing career to date.
He clearly has legitimate credentials and has been taking the sport seriously over the past few years, but especially without having had an amateur career, it’s hard to predict how he’d react if he ever wound up in trouble.
If Woodley does get his wish and is able to meet Paul in the ring for a second time, he’ll no doubt take this shot with him as a moment of real encouragement that he can hurt him.
