There was HUGE controversy in the Tunisia vs Mali match at AFCON after an incredibly questionable refereeing performance casted a shadow over the game.
After a rather disappointing 90 minutes of football, at the end of which Ibrahima Kone’s penalty kick was all there was to separate the two sides, it all kicked off after the full-time whistle.
Despite there having been several long stoppages in play, including VAR reviews, referee Janny Sikazwe still blew the whistle in the 89th minute of the game, which infuriated the Tunisian players.

This cames after Sikazwe, who was previously suspended over allegations of corruption, attempted to end the game after just 85 minutes, which really would have been taking the mick.
CAF, the organisation in power, and the same organisation which previously suspended Sikazwe, demanded that the game be restarted and the final minutes played out.
Mali returned to the pitch, but Tunisia didn’t, perhaps out protest against what they saw as quite obviously bent refereeing. You can see the best bits from the drama below. What a farce!
Have you EVER seen anything like it…🤯
