Tottenham trio set to receive ‘HEFTY’ fines after ignoring club orders to fly to South America

Three Tottenham players are reportedly set for ‘hefty’ penalties after defying club orders to join their countries for the international break.

After the quite ridiculous scenes we saw at the Brazil vs Argentina game on Sunday night, you imagined that there would be fallout for those responsible for rule-breaking.

Tottenham’s Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso both ignored Spurs’ wishes by heading to South America. They then found themselves in hot water with officials.

While the pair are unlikely to be thrown behind bars in Brazil, they could be set for more than a slap on the wrists upon their return to North London later this week.

According to The Sun, both Romero, Lo Celso, as well as Colombian Davinson Sanchez, are all likely to be hit with considerable fines after returning to North London.

All three flagrantly ignored the decisions of their clubs and guidelines of the league in order to jet off half-way around the world for a fortnight or so.

You can’t fault them for their commitment to their national teams, that ought to be encouraged, but to defy orders amid a global pandemic is just asking for trouble.
