Tommy Fury was called out by a cruiserweight world champion following his victory over KSI recently.
Jai Opetaia had welcomed a bout with Fury and speaking to Fox Sports Australia, he said:
“You know, boxing is my job. It’s how I put food on the table. So while Tommy Fury isn’t on my radar, if he wants to fight for a world title, sure, he can come and get it.”
“I’ll happily beat the crap out of him and get straight back to chasing those belts. I’ve never watched him live, no, but I’ve seen a few clips on social media. And he’s not s***.”
“The guy knows what he is doing and comes from a boxing family. But there are levels to this game, and I’m on the world champion level, fighting for world titles. He’s still got a long way to go to get there. But if he wants to have a crack, wants to come to Australia and put on a big fight, let’s do it.”

Well Fury wasn’t exactly impressed by the call-out from the IBF champion.
Speaking to the Daily Mail Sport he responded:
“I bet he would wouldn’t he, Mr World Champion against a 10 and 0 novice.
A world champion at the pinnacle like that, he’s talking about me as a novice with no amateur background, it’s really good. It’s funny. It’s good to be in this position.”
Fury then continued by saying he is staying where the money is, for now.
“I’m going to make the most of the crossover scene while it’s here. Let’s not beat around the bush, there’s a lot more money in it than traditional boxing.”
So now Tommy’s world title goal has turned into am actual chance to get it he
