Tommy Fury on ‘cunning’ Jake Paul’s clown-fighting strategy and Tyron Woodley having no chance

Tommy Fury has offered some insight into why Youtuber-cum-fighter Jake Paul is ducking professional boxers.

Fury, a boxing man from a boxing family, has been exchanging words with influencer online. Paul appears to be keen on gaining more exposure from the Love Island star’s surname, with little intention to step into the ring with him.

Instead, Paul will be fighting Tyron Woodley, a former UFC champion, in his fourth professional bout. The previous three came against AnEsonGib (YouTuber), Nate Robinson (former NBA star) and Ben Askren (former UFC fighter).

Paul is making it seem as though he has dived head first into the sport of boxing, but has not yet fought a boxer, and it remains to be seen if he will ever be willing to step into the ring with one.

Tommy Fury, who will fight Jordan Grant, 2-0, on the undercard of Daniel Dubois vs Bogan Dinu on Saturday, has given his take on Paul and his strategy, as quoted by DAZN.

“If Jake Paul gets in the ring with me it will be dangerous for him, but keep fighting these clowns he’s fighting and it’s not going to be dangerous for him.”

“He is a cunning man. He has earned a lot of money and if there was any chance of Tyron Woodley beating Jake Paul that contract wouldn’t have got signed.”

Jake Paul ahead of his TKO win over Ben Askren

“Why would Jake Paul put himself in a position where he is going to get knocked spark out? He is not going to fight anybody who will test him because he doesn’t need to.”

“He is making a fortune from YouTube. Why is he going to get his teeth knocked out for nothing? “

“These MMA guys like Woodley and his last opponent Ben Askren will fight him all day long. They earn £300,000 for MMA and can get three or four million for fighting him.”

“If it comes it comes because it is easy money. I am not going to focus on Jake Paul. Saturday night is where my mind is and I have a job to do.”

We’d love to see Fury and Paul go toe-to-toe in the ring – but only because it’d be over for the American within a round.
