Tragedy struck at UFC London after Tom Aspinall suffered a knee injury just seconds into his main event clash with Curtis Blaydes.
While the entire card was stacked with exciting fights, as is often the case when the UFC rolls up in the English capital, itβs the main event that everyoneβs waiting to watch.
Sadly, those in attendance and everyone who had paid the PPV price to watch on the tele was short-changed, with the fight lasting just 16 seconds.
As Aspinall threw a leg kick and stepped back to move out of range, his knee completely gave way from underneath him, ending the contest immediately.
It was a freak accident and one that Blaydes can take no credit for. Ultimately, there was no fight and Aspinall was unfortunate to have it ruled as a TKO doctor stoppage.
A very unfortunate ending to this fight just 16 seconds into the first round.
We wish @AspinallMMA a speedy recovery π#UFCLondonpic.twitter.com/iXrjYVNiM3

Most importantly, we hope that the damage done to Aspinall is not as serious as it first appeared and these two can run it back sooner rather than later.
