Tom Aspinall was on standby if either Jon Jones or Stipe Miocic had pulled out of their contest.
Jones, 37, defended his heavyweight title against Miocic in style ending the contest with a spinning back-kick to the former champion’s body.

In attendance was Britain’s interim heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, who has been very vocal in calling out Jones for a clash.
When it looked like Aspinall would not be needed for the main event the MMA star asked if he could have a beer in the VIP lounge , but his request was declined by the UFC boss Hunter Campbell.
The message shown by Aspinall on his YouTube channel shows that his bid for a beer was declined.
“For $200k I’d very much appreciate if he can wait until they walk,” Hunter replied. “I’d kill myself if I said yes and something happened.”

$200k to be on standby is not a bad day at the office although Aspinall did admit that he would not be doing it again.
