The former hurler of the year TJ Reid was the star of the show again today as Ballyhale Shamrocks added another county title to their name. After the game the 35 year old was interviewed and was nearly in tears with the sheer delight of winning another county title.

Just goes to show once again what the club game means to all these players, no matter how high a level they played at. Dare I say it but it looks like the split season has worked a treat, in giving the exposure that the club game deserves. See TJ’s post match interview below, while talking to TG4

I genuinely believe the current set up of intercounty and club championships will drive on clubs and players will be much better for it. If it stays as it is the county managers will have a tough task in scouting club teams to make up County panels for the next year
