Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans came agonisingly close to scoring what would arguably have been the goal of the season vs Manchester City.
Tielemans, whose genius has been well-established during his time as a Leicester player, has made no secret of his desire to move on to bigger and better things eventually.
While a big club didn’t come knocking for the Belgian in the summer, you have to imagine it’s only a matter of time before Leicester lose let another key figure.
Could Man City be his next destination? Well, that’s yet to be determined, but Tielemans almost produced what would have been the perfect audition before the eyes of Pep Guardiola.
Straight from the training ground, James Maddison played an inch-perfect pass from the corner towards Tielemans, who was lingering just outside the City penalty area.
Tielemans struck the ball goal-bound on the volley, connecting with it as sweet as he could’ve liked, but his effort was tipped onto the crossbar and clear of danger by Ederson.
Had it somehow made it’s way through Ederson, or been either side of him, this would surely have been the goal of the season from Leicester’s Belgian star…
