Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson confirms Tyson Fury fight talks

Hafthor ‘Thor’ Bjornsson has confirmed that talks have been held over the possibility of staging a fight between himself and Tyson Fury.

Bjornsson’s most recent boxing match came against fellow strongman Eddie Hall. He knocked the former world’s strongest man to the canvas on multiple occasions and ultimately secured the victory.

While Hall’s boxing ability left plenty to be desired, Bjornsson’s was more refined. He had obviously put work into learning the sweet science during his training camp – Hall certainly hadn’t.

Bjornsson appears unwilling to allow all his hard work to be wasted and wants to persevere with the sport. If he’s to be believed, his next opponent could be the heavyweight champion of the world.

Tyson Fury is, at least so he claims, retired, but the expectation is that he would come out of retirement to face the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk II and have a chance at being the undisputed champion.

In the meantime, he could fight Bjornsson in order to remain active. There has also been talk of him potentially facing UFC champion Francis Ngannou. Fury appears keen on making that fight happen.

Ultimately, we all want to see him in the ring with Joshua or Usyk. Whatever he chooses to do from there is entirely up to him. He’s a showman, so we ought to expect a few exhibitions on the horizon.
