Thomas Tuchel came up with some quite laughable excuses to justify Chelsea’s poor performance against Crystal Palace this afternoon.
Chelsea somehow managed to come away from Selhurst Park with all three points this afternoon, despite producing one of their worst performances of the season to date.
The Blues, who were recently crowned champions of the world, relied on an 89th-minute strike from Hakim Ziyech to bail them out and retain their grip on third place in the Premier League.
However, the cracks showed and that’ll be concerning for Chelsea supporters ahead of what remains of the season AND the upcoming Carabao Cup final.

Thomas Tuchel appears to have an excuse for every minor detail, though. He went full Jurgen Klopp while speaking to the media post-match.
Tuchel: “We come from a 30C temperature difference, we have six players with a cold from the AC on the plane. We have jet lag, we have almost no player who slept well in Abu Dhabi because of temperature and the time difference so it is the same here.”

Of course, Tuchel is not going to come out in the media and slate his players, but to spout nonsense of this nature is just clowning himself.
Chelsea need to improve considerably if they are to end this season strongly. Make no mistake, they are still very much in the battle for Champions League qualification.
