Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have had a player in every World Cup final since 1982.
Argentina faces France in the World Cup final this Sunday at the Lusail Stadium. This will be the first time both sides meet since the 2018 World Cup when France walked away winners after an enthralling 4-3 game.
If France wins they will become only the third team in history to win back-to-back tournaments. But an even more impressive statistic will continue once the game kicks off.
The long-standing tradition of both a Bayern Munich and Inter Milan player featuring in the World Cup final will continue. It began in 1982 and has continued on, every four years for 40 years.
Probably totally meaningless and simply down to coincidence. But kinda neat that Bayern + Inter will have a player in this World Cup final, just like every World Cup final for the past 40 years….

Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan and Dayot Upamacano from Bayern Munich will both face off against each other and keep this mind blowing tradition going.
