Kevin De Bruyne was Manchester City’s hero last night as he scored a stunning equalizer in his side’s 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, and he received serious praise from Thierry Henry afterward.
In the CBS studio, the former Arsenal and Barcelona man labelled De Bruyne “the most clever player” he has ever seen, citing his ability to see, think and do things that other players can simply not. Effusive in his praise for a player he worked with at the Belgian national team for six years, Henry claimed he was the most important player at City, comparing his influence to that of Xavi and Andres Iniesta in his old Barca side.

It’s a big shout from Henry but if City finally get over their Champions League hurdle and/or win the treble, there won’t be many arguing against KDB’s position as one of the true greats of the modern era.
