Pep Guardiola has fired shots at Liverpool in wake of Manchester City’s potentially decisive victory over Newcastle United.

After Liverpool were held by Antonio Conte’s rigid Tottenham Hotspur side, Man City were presented with the opportunity to build themselves a three-point buffer at the summit of the Premier League title.

The reigning champions seized the opportunity emphatically, firing FIVE goals past Newcastle and giving themselves a healthy goal-difference advantage on top of the potentially unscalable, if slim, points advantage.

City are now right in the driving seat in the pursuit of the Premier League title, and even though Liverpool have pushed them to the very wire, Guardiola does not appear to have developed much respect for the Reds.

Speaking to the media in wake of the victory, Guardiola referred to Liverpool’s lack of real Premier League pedigree, with the Reds having won the trophy on just ONE occasion.

Pep can make these sort of comments safely with the knowledge that City are likely to go on and win the league. That said, it could come back to bit him if there’s another late City capitulation…
