“They did nothing” – Rodri SLAMS Morocco with BITTER response

Rodri wasn’t too impressed by the Morocco side that knocked his team out of the World Cup yesterday.

Spain, who were one of the favourites to win the tournament, were knocked out on penalties yesterday by an underdog Morocco side. The African team put in a stellar performance, limiting the Spaniards to only one shot on target after 120 minutes.

Morocco then went on to win the penalty shootout, scoring three out of four while Spain missed all of theirs.

After the match, Spain centre-back Rodri gave an interview where he bitterly slammed Morocco for doing ‘absolutely nothing.

“Morocco offered absolutely nothing, without disrespecting them. In the game, they did nothing. They just waited for the counters. They stayed behind and tried to counter us!”

This is the second World Cup in a row that Spain has been knocked out in the round of 16, losing to Russia in 2018 on penalties as well.

They now have an early flight home, while Morocco gear up for another devastating upset when they face Portugal this weekend.

After beating Switzerland 6-1, Portugal has shown how clinical they can be in front of the goal. But they will need to be at their destructive best if they want to break down Morocco’s compact defence.
