There will be no reunion between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Manchester United in the Europa League

Last weeks UEFA Europa League draw produced what was meant to be the reunion of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his former club Manchester United when AC Milan and United were drawn together but the Swedish striker will play not part in either leg of the tie.

The AC Milan striker was in preparation for taking on his former club Manchester United in the Europa League last-16, but a muscle injury to his left thigh has ruled him out of both fixtures report the Mirror.

The draw for the Last-16 of the Europa League was made last week which saw United paired up with Italian giants AC Milan and the return of former striker Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish striker had a very successful spell at the club in 2016-2018, winning the Europa League in 2017.

During his time at Old Trafford Zlatan netted 29 goals and provided ten assists in 53 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Ibrahimovic left old Trafford in 2018 and headed to the United States where he played for MLS side LA Galaxy.
