The Two Johnnies from Tipperary started a new afternoon show with RTE 2fm this month and already are under the spotlight from listeners and people in general for their ‘toxic masculinity’ according to twitter users. Today they had to make an apology to their listeners after a piece of content on their social media didn’t go down to well.
Russia is just after invading the Ukraine but a lot of people want to go after and attack the two tipperary men that have done well for themselves. Is this harsh or just? In fairness you probably can’t say “Tyres are like women, no good unless they are squealing” and some of the other stuff. Could this be the end for the Tipperary duo?
We hope not as we very much enjoy their pod and wish the two lads well.

The Two Johnnies headache is not going away for RTE. @ciarancannon: “At a time when we are having a national conversation about toxic masculinity and standing up for women, often on RTÉ, this raises many questions.” Comes as @HollyCairnsTD initially condemned the promo clip. pic.twitter.com/5XLbGa0gH7

So Louise McSharry gets axed and the Two Johnnies get their own show on 2FM? RTE have totally lost the plot. Two Johnnies is Ms Brown’s Boys level stuff.

The Two Johnnies, of whom I had never heard until 20 minutes ago, seem to be one of those acts — like G*rth Br**ks — who show up what a blissfully sheltered life one can lead. Literally everyone on my timeline seems to dislike their comedy-adjacent content. Yet.. there they are.
