Emma Raducanu made history at the 2021 US Open when she became the first qualifier ever to lift a Grand Slam title, at just 18.
Many had thought that she would add more Grand Slams to her name after that monumental win, but it hasn’t happened. On the contrary, she has lost his way and has struggled badly in recent years.
The Brit managed to land lucrative sponsorship deals with brands like Dior and British Airways, and has kept contracts with most of the other companies.
The 22-year-old is raking in millions from off-court agreements. However, she may not be able to retain some of her partnerships if her results do not improve.
Tennis legend Chris Evert believes Raducanu’s sponsorship agreements have done nothing to help her career, and urged her to “swallow her pride”.
“Emma is a beautiful girl and that probably didn’t help. The endorsements came in, the coaches were coming in and out, and still her expectations are right up there now,” the 18-time Major winner told Tennis365.
“She’s not there yet. She’s got to build, go back to the drawing board and build-up slowly. Maybe she had to swallow her pride a little because she’s not up there yet.”
Raducanu has seen a lot of ups and downs since winning the US Open.
She had undergone three surgeries in 2023 and fell outside of the world’s top 300.
Raducanu peaked at No. 10 in her career, and she is back inside the world’s top 50.
Nike provides her match and training kit, while Wilson is her racket sponsor.
