Stuart Pearce has admitted that he is unsure whether Marcus Rashford can continue his impressive goalscoring form going forward.
The former defender admitted on Talksport that he doesn’t think Rashford can be considered world class unless he can replicate his performances consistently next season.
“For me, ‘world class’ isn’t about making a statement this week or next week, it’s permanent over a long period or looking back and asking ‘have they been world class?'”
“There’s only a handful of players that I consider ‘world class’. His goals per game right now is the best it’s ever been, but I need to see that over a longer period.”
Pearce then asked presenter Jim White whether he would be confident in Rashford scoring 20+ goals season after season from now.
🌍 “World class isn’t making a statement this week or that week, it’s permanent.”
🤔 “Would you be confident in Rashford scoring 25 goals next season? And the season after that? I’m not sure you would.”

“Would you put money on Rashford scoring. 25 goals next season, and the season after that, and the season after that? I’m not sure you would.”
