Stamford Bridge could be completely submerged by water by 2050 as a consequence of the climate crisis, reports The Sun.

Stamford Bridge, home of Chelsea Football Club, is one of the oldest football stadiums in England. It’s a piece of history, worshipped by the fanbase.

However, there is now a legitimate possibility that it could be FLOODED, with the climate crisis set to make its mark on Premier League football in the coming years.

As per The Sun, Stamford Bridge could be completely submerged by 2050, which is merely 28 years away, as a consequence of the global climate crisis.

The report states that a recent study has highlighted Stamford Bridge as one of the most at-risk top-flight stadiums, which is unlikely to please Chelsea supporters.

Todd Boehly and the rest of his consortium are understood to be keen to invest bags of cash to bring the stadium up to standard and make it one of the country’s finest.

If this information is to be believed, they ought to invest in some kind of flood defences to future-proof themselves against devastating climate-related rain.
