Chelsea’s results have been mixed over the past few weeks, but all in all it’s been a pretty good season thus far. If Chelsea fail to finish in the top four this season, it will be a massive failure, especially when you consider the Blues were seen as title challengers not too long ago ..
Chelsea currently sit in fourth spot on the league table, two points in front of Manchester City and four points behind Nottingham Forrest who sit in third place. The Italian manger Enzo Maresca has done an excellent job of getting the best out of this team, especially when you consider some of the turmoil the club has had to go through in recent seasons.
If the 44 year old Italian manager manages to keep Chelsea in the top four, it will be seen as a relative success in the eyes of most Chelsea fans. Chelsea have some good and exciting young players in the form of Cole Palmer, Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke to name but a few.
If Chelsea can get that Champions League football for next season, some of their games will be some of the hottest tickets in town now. Chelsea are a club that belong in the Champions League, they’re still the only London team to have won the competition and not sure once, but twice!
London is a city that all the top footballers want to be in and if Chelsea are in the Champions League, they will attract some serious talent to the West side of London city.
Manchester City are starting to find their mojo again though and one that the Blues supporters should be really worried about. City still have a serious talent with serious talent and you wouldn’t bet against them not finishing in the top four. There’s a long way to go with a lot of twists and turns in this season yet.
Chelsea have a run of fixtures over the next weeks including a trip to Brighton and Aston Villa away from home and then they will welcome Southampton to Stamford Bridge. The Blues will be hoping to get the maximum amount of points from these three games in month of February, anything less and they will find themselves in deep, deep trouble.
