One of the formats would see clubs playing two championship games without their county players.

It has attracted nationwide attention, with some commentators fearing it is a first step to a day when county stars will no longer line out with their clubs.

But with the inter-county game unlikely to cede any more ground in the GAA calendar, is this the best way of staging meaningful summer games for the regular club player?
